Re: Wonderbat Blues

That 80-page JLA book gave me both Bruce/Diana and Bruce/Zee, my two absolute favorite (and only) ships for Bruce (those and Talia if they wanted to go with an evil love interest). How the times have changed. This is telling of how easily influenced people are by the current storylines in comics, no...

Re: Skirt or no Skirt?

While I do like the swimsuit, I really love the skirt. It's a pretty drastic change in costume if you think about it, but it fit Diana's character and background so well that the change seemed seamless in my opinion.

Man it's been a while since I've been here. A combination of getting busy in my personal life, and falling ill at a very inopportune time made it difficult to check up on you guys. In any case... Someone just posted some spoilers from Tom King's run on 4chan. Just read Batman #69. Batman breaks out ...

Re: DC Extended Universe

Well, are we not going to talk about it? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6ByktxSZeQ I have some thoughts on this whole Zack Snyder thing. I've defended Snyder's vision for Batman before, as I could see what he was trying to do, even though personally speaking I believe Batman of all Superheroes sh...

Re: Great Comic Art!

Damn good cover, we seem to always agree on how Batman should look. Imagine an entire story arc with this type of art it would be amazing. Hey we both are clearly people of fine taste. I don't know about an entire book drawn in that style, as that would make the whole thing feel too dream like I th...

Re: DC June 2019 Solicitations

Bendis introducing Marvel's brand of cohesive interconnected storytelling was the thing I was hoping for the most when his transfer to DC was announced. You can see that Marvel mentality seeping through everything Bendis writes, but things like Talia hooking up with Jimmy in the future is just moron...

Re: DC MAY SOLICITS 2019

There's no getting around Catwoman at this point I have to admit, much to my personal chagrin. Still the fact that Zee is pretty much front and center on the cover right under Bruce himself, which is much better than what we had during the New 52. I'll say it again because it bears repeating, I'll a...

Re: Bat-books Talk

Detective Comics #1000 was a thing that happened alright. The stories I """""""""liked""""""""""" were not many. Snyder's opener was entertaining, although I'm not sure how Batman can be the world's greatest detective while being schooled and upstaged by other characters in that regards most of the ...

Re: DC June 2019 Solicitations

Bendis' Leviathan lost me before it even started. The stuff Bendis is pushing with Talia just ruined the whole thing for me. Not sure about his new Doctor Doom wannabe villain, but I'm surprised that he's not being introduced as a strictly Superman villain despite the whole event springing from his ...

Re: DC MAY SOLICITS 2019

- Last Knight on Earth sounds pretty good from what we've heard of it. Snyder is a great writer who's not without his fair share of problems, whose heart is always in the right place I think. So I'm always open to whatever story he wants to do. The whole concept of Batman wandering a post apocalypti...

Re: Bat-books Talk

If I remember correctly The Suit Of Sorrows was always linked to The Sacred Order of Saint Dumas which in turn is linked to Azreal. What Tynion did was to strip it of its Mystical properties and make it technology instead while also adding some mind control into the mix for good measures. Pre-New 5...

Re: Wonderbat Blues

Not only that doesn't come anywhere close to all the BS that DC put Batman through ever since Rebirth started, but that was also a part of the New 52 as you've mentioned, and Grant definitely had other motivations for writing the way he did back then, so I don't hold any of it against him. The one t...

Re: JUSTICE LEAGUE VS. THE FATAL FIVE direct-to-DVD animated movie

I feel Timm has learned his lesson by now. Don't forget that the Batman & Harley movie was released no long after the Killing Joke, and these things are often written years in advance. I feel he won't be pulling any of this BS again any time soon. While I'm almost positive that there will be no BMWW...

Re: Scott Snyder's Justice League.

I wonder if Bruce is being kept in the same place Clark is being held? That's definitely a possibility. What stuck out to me in the interaction between Bruce and the future Batman and Superman, is that despite their Bruce allegedly dying, they didn't seem especially thrilled to see Bruce alive once...

Re: Bat-books Talk

Oh man the Suit of Sorrow was a favorite of mine as well. Too bad Tynion pawned it off to Azrael instead. It's amazing how many cool thematic and visual elements that Batman has, which DC almost systematically worked to purge out or transplant into other characters. Both DC and King have been workin...

Re: Wonderbat Blues

Oh yeah I remember that comment about Diana from him. It's telling how very few writers exist today that truly understand the characters they write. Waid wanted to make a Superman story and say something about the eXtreme 90's trends in comics, but opted to use characters he had no business writing ...

So Tomasi and Mahnke did an interview with the Hollywood Reporter talking about their upcoming story in Detective Comics #1000, and the "new" villain they're introducing, the Arkham Knight. https://cdn1.thr.com/sites/default/files/2019/03/_detective_comics_1000_knight_story-publicity-embed_3-2019.jp...
