Re: Foreign Soil

Bruce knew he was used to entering and exiting the cave under the cover of darkness but as he emerged with Essie’s well gone over and translated files he couldn’t help but notice the library seemed brighter somehow. Maybe it was the hour; afternoon sunlight crept over the shelves and books and water...

Re: WIP

I know it's starting to look like I'm determined to turn around and push back against every piece of advice you're giving me but I am taking what you're saying to heart and am trying to include your suggestions in my editing Not a problem. I'm used to arguing, so it doesn't impact me if people don'...

Hi, Ari! Welcome to the forum :D

Nice to meet you, I'm still getting orientated here but I'm enjoying getting to know everyone. I'm glad I didn't miss the Wonderbat boat entirely

Re: WIP

MTV that is a great way of clarifying the dialogue without messing with the flow like he said she said would. I am impressed. Thank you. I referred to it as "He said/She said" as I can't remember the term for the part of the sentence outside of the quotation marks. I will try to work on clarifying ...

Re: Random 13. THE GREAT HORNED RAT!!!!

I'm kind of coming out of nowhere with this I know, but what asshole keeps deciding to make live action adaptations of superhero comics and not have said superheroes wearing costumes? Smallville did that to start, but at least they started to go back on that in later seasons and they only did in th...

Re: Foreign Soil

Diana of Themyscira was used to the unexpected. As a superhero it was an occupational hazard; there was never any telling just where any given day might end up. In her career as Wonder Woman she had been to Hell, several alien worlds and more alternate timelines and dimensions than she cared to coun...

Re: Foreign Soil

No you can post here as well. It is pretty freeform around here and whatever you want (as long as it isn't rude and mean) to post is fine. But if you would also like feedback and constructive criticism let us know. I am pretty old school when it comes to grammar and I always strive for clarity in m...

Re: WIP

I thought during the Jasmine/Bruce interaction it was clear they were at the steps of Wayne Manor while Tim was back at the car, would working more on describing the setting help make the dialogue clearer? Not really necessary when this basically solves it: “I’m 14!” She protested as forcefully as ...

Re: WIP

Ok, good start and I'm sufficiently interested to want to read on, though i don't feel the "when's the next chapter" bug. All in all, not much to complain about, except that I can't really follow who is saying what when you have consecutive spoken sentences one after another. I get that it can be a...

Ok so this is an unfinished fic I uncovered in one of my old writing journals from 2006 that I'd like some feedback on. As with Foreign Soil I've done a bit of editing to get it up to 2020 scratch as it was painfully obvious I was a teenager when I wrote it. Be thankful I didn't break out the angst ...

Re: Random 13. THE GREAT HORNED RAT!!!!

Since this is the random chat I think it's the best place to say after navigating this site for a couple of weeks I only JUST realised that the date under each users icons on the right is the date they joined and not the date of the comment posted . Duh Ari I was getting SO CONFUSED by what I though...

Re: Foreign Soil

I've found in the current gender climate it's use as a gender neutral pronoun is becoming more widespread and accepted. I am inclined to stick with it but of course now that Essie has a defined gender it probably won't pop up again ^_^ He/She feels clumsy and clunky to me and I thought it would thr...

Re: Foreign Soil

While you may prefer it is has not become standard English and can be confusing to your reader as it implies more than one and not gender neutrality. If you don't like it in reference to a person I would recommend using generalizations like the child, the infant, the baby until you establish sex. E...

Re: Foreign Soil

Saw this on AO3 and was intrigued. I don't know why you used them at the beginning instead of it. I was confused thinking there was more than one baby or being. Otherwise good start and can't wait to read more. I'm glad you liked it I've always preferred 'they' over 'it' as a gender neutral pronoun...

Foreign Soil

He didn’t have a contingency plan for this. A fact that was only slightly less disturbing than the infant currently lying on the Batcave floor. They were tightly swaddled in something red and asleep, so thank heaven for small mercies. “And they just appeared?” The Batman; he hadn’t had time to don t...

Re: Wonderbat Blues

Honestly I tend to avoid the comics over all for most of the reasons you've given but I think it's worth noting that a lot of the issues you laid out affect more than just Wonderbat. They effect everything, all the time in comics. No one stays dead, no one stays together, even if by some miracle th...

Welcome to the forum. Sorry but while we are still active and posting it has really slowed around here. I am trying to think of way to revive the site but with BMWW basically on permanent hiatus anywhere but fan fiction we haven't had much going on. Any suggestions will be welcomed. The old cartoon...

Welcome. I'm always happy whenever the site gets new members. I excuse myself ahead of time if we sometimes might come off as a bit... nagging, specially because i do most of it. It's just this is a great place to vent off my frustrations as a comic and this pairing fan. I hope you can look past th...
