Bruce and Zatanna

If Batman can't have Wonder Woman, then Zatanna would be my second option. Catwoman would be my third and Batwoman would be my fourth.

I don't know about Bruce "having" Diana, but I believe that the only other love interest that Bruce had with a comparable potential to Diana is Zee, so the two have always been my top (and only) picks as love interests for Bruce.

I'm personally so sick of Catwoman that if it was up time I wouldn't let her within a hundred miles of Bruce or anything that has to do with him, so I'd personally prefer Bruce remain alone over having her. Batwoman I'm not sure it would work out given how she's A) A lesbian is a committed relationship and B) His cousin, so having the two date might be a little bit tricky. Unless you mean the original Batwoman, but she hasn't been seen in canon for ages now.

You know Bruce Diana Zatanna and Selina would be the perfect fantasy mmo team. You have the knight the warrior mage and thief.. Maybe have a story where they are stuck in a dungeons and dragons fantasy worldl where their skills actually compliment each other to try to escape it. While Selina tries to seduce Bruce but taking all the gold other trinkets at the same time getting them in trouble with the local lords for her theiving waves Zatanna wanting to learn the worlds magic as well and her and Diana making sure the cat doesnt get them in to much trouble. How will bruce react not needing the mask and saving the damsels without his batman security blanket and the local ladies especially the princess eying him as potential husband material.

Well i have just two options: Wonder Woman and Zatanna.

Like i said in original post, mostly because of King. I hate what King do to Batman for the sake of Catwoman. I don't hate Batcat so much how i hate King portrayal of Batman. And people because of Batcat refuse to notice this, Bruce is butchered in his book.

I'd read that fic, though I'd cast Wonder Woman as a Paladin myself. Power from the gods and all of that.

Okay...

Being the local Constantine Guru Allow me to shed a little bit of light....

The issues of Hellblazers in which Zatanna appeared are considered cannon with the Main universe of DC. That said... Yeah, John was a dick. He was dating Zee and Kat at the same time. The thing was Kat was almost exactly like Zee. Truth be told she was basically a carbon copy with one exception. Kat didn't want her powers. She didn't want to be open to magic, or anything like it, and that attracted John. It was a chance to be with someone who wanted to be normal. It's kind of like the forbidden fruit. Kat lived in a world of normality. A world were a man could love a woman, work, make a living, marry said woman, and have a family together. It's a world that John was never a part of and knew he really never could be a part of. He tried several times, but the Fallen, King of Vampires, and a bunch of other things caused it not to work.

When Zee left it was after John showed her how to wipe someone's memories. She wanted to know, and he showed her how to do it. He also explained that when it happened... anything she wanted with this person would be gone. There are some things that can't be forgiven.

Of course we know what happened with that huh?

The last time Zee was with John, actually with him, he said Kat's name instead of hers. That was the deal breaker. Every appearance after that was simply as her learning something, being there as a friend, or something similar until they removed her completely. (It was fun to watch her get stoned though.)

In the end the reason John and Zee didn't work is because A) John wasn't really able to decide on the kind of relationship he wanted, and B ) Zee thought that John could be something he wasn't.
